MSc Statistics, Iowa State University, USA
Magíster en Ciencias de la Ingeniería Eléctrica, Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, Chile
Ingeniero Civil Electricista, Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, Chile

I am currently a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and an associate researcher at the Advanced Center for Electrical and Electronic Engineering (AC3E) at Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María (UTFSM), in Valparaiso, Chile. After finishing my PhD at Iowa State University, from 2007 to 2011 I was an electricity markets consultant employed with McLennan Magasanik Associates and Sinclair Knight Merz in Melbourne, Australia, where I worked on renewable energy integration and capacity expansion planning. Since returning to Chile and the UTFSM in 2011, I have been teaching and researching on the application of optimization and probabilistic methods to power systems, electricity markets, and the decarbonization of the electricity sector.
